The ALL program teaches a child with language learning difficulties by using movies children love to watch as visual aids in the learning process. This revolutionary product aims to provide these children a means of escape from the isolation autism and similar conditions can bring.
How does it work?
ALL is designed to benefit visually intelligent children with language learning difficulties. Using a state-of-the-art visual program, ALL has “reversed the process of language learning” by incorporating sensory integration and working with auditory processing. The program starts with familiar visual imagery from Disney and Pixar movies, and then this visual imagery is connected to text, thereby bringing that child towards the skills of reading and writing.
Through the program, the child learns:
- Firstly, that people are individual and individuals have name
- Next, action words are introduced, running, jumping, laughing
- Then, socio emotional recognition is introduced.
It is only when the child begins to demonstrate literacy that the final stage of language development, verbal development, is introduced.
This intervention is intuitive to the child, so how the child uses the program will tell the system what the child needs, tailoring to the child’s individual strengths. It will also be engaging and enjoyable while being highly therapeutic. Overall this will effect improvements in the child’s conceptual and language understanding, positioning them to access general education, sport, socio-emotional communication and other related ‘must haves’ to succeed and grow in society.
